The Jammu and Kashmir government took a significant step towards improving the recruitment process by constituting a high-level committee on Thursday. This initiative focuses on developing a Single Window System to streamline the processing of Recruitment Rules in a time-bound manner.
An official order issued by the General Administration Department (GAD-JK) appointed the Principal Secretary of the Public Works (R&B) Department as the committee’s Chairman. The committee comprises key members, including the Commissioner/Secretary to the Government, General Administration Department, and the Commissioner/Secretary of the ARI & Trainings Department, who will serve as the Member Secretary.
The committee also includes the Secretary of the School Education Department, Secretary of the Information Technology Department, Secretary of the Law, Justice & Parliamentary Affairs, and representatives from the J&K Public Service Commission, along with the J&K Services Selection Board. These representatives will hold positions not below the rank of Additional Secretaries. The Chairman has the authority to co-opt any additional members to support the committee’s objectives.
The primary mission of the committee involves finalizing the digitization of Recruitment Rules while adopting the “Delhi Model” to enhance efficiency. By incorporating BISAG-N as a digital partner, the committee aims to facilitate the smooth application of this innovative system. In this capacity, the ARI & Trainings Department will support the committee’s operations effectively.
This reform comes amid growing calls for transparency and speed in recruitment processes across various departments in Jammu and Kashmir. Stakeholders believe that a well-structured Single Window System will not only expedite the recruitment process but also ensure a fairer selection of candidates based on merit.
These changes reflect the Jammu and Kashmir government’s commitment to modernizing administrative practices through technology and systematic approaches. Officials emphasize that this initiative will significantly reduce delays, thereby improving the overall recruitment framework in the region.
As the committee begins its work, many will watch closely how this initiative transforms the recruitment landscape, bringing the Jammu and Kashmir region in line with contemporary practices seen elsewhere in the country. The government is optimistic that the new system will lead to improved service delivery and better management of human resources.
