A Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) terrorist, Parminder Singh, alias Pindi, has been extradited from the UAE after being linked to numerous serious crimes. Punjab Police Director General Gaurav Yadav confirmed this crucial development on Saturday.
Pindi, who served as a close associate of foreign-based terrorists Harwinder Singh, alias Rinda, and Happy Passia, was brought back from Abu Dhabi through a coordinated effort with Indian central agencies. His extradition marks a significant victory in the battle against terrorism.
According to Yadav, Parminder Pindi was heavily involved in several heinous acts, including petrol bomb attacks, violent assaults, and extortion activities, particularly in Batala, a town in Gurdaspur district. These actions have posed a serious threat to public safety.
In a detailed post on the social media platform X, Yadav elaborated that the extradition followed the issuance of a red corner notice (RCN) requested by the Batala police. A dedicated four-member team led by a senior police officer embarked on the mission to the UAE on September 24, actively collaborating with the Ministry of External Affairs and appropriate UAE authorities.
After navigating through all necessary legal protocols, the police team successfully brought Pindi back to India. Yadav emphasized the importance of such collaborations in combating terrorism and ensuring that those who commit crimes face justice.
This extradition represents another step forward in India’s efforts to counter domestic terrorism and eliminate threats from organized crime networks like BKI. Authorities hope to gather further insights and intelligence on Pindi’s associates through his interrogation.
