CM Omar Abdullah Aerial Survey of Flood-Hit J&K Areas

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah undertook an important aerial survey of flood-affected villages in Kathua district on Thursday. This initiative aimed to assess the extent of the damage caused by recent floods.

During the survey, Abdullah interacted directly with residents who lost their homes to this natural calamity, highlighting the administration’s commitment to assist those in distress.

Following his aerial assessment, the chief minister convened a meeting with district officers, where he emphasized the urgency of coordinating an effective relief response for the affected population.

In conversation with the community members of Duggain village in Billawar, Abdullah expressed solidarity with those impacted, ensuring them that the government would provide all possible support. “The administration will mobilize resources quickly to help you rebuild,” he assured.

The chief minister’s visit comes as part of ongoing efforts to manage the fallout from the devastating floods, which have affected numerous homes and disrupted lives across several regions.

The Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary noted that they are prioritizing relief distribution and resource mobilization. “Immediate relief packages are being prepared to assist all individuals and families impacted,” he stated.

Abdullah also announced plans to visit the Mahore area in Reasi district later this week to further investigate the damages and ascertain additional needs for recovery.

As Jammu and Kashmir grapples with the aftermath of these floods, the local government is working tirelessly to assess the situation and ensure that adequate relief reaches those in need.
