Actor Aamir Khan’s brother, Faissal Khan, has once again stirred controversy with fresh claims against his family. Speaking to the media on Monday, the ‘Mela’ actor alleged that his mother, Zeenat Hussain, forced him into a marriage with his aunt (mousi) nearly two decades ago, around 2002-2003.
Faissal said this was not the only painful chapter in his life. He also accused his mother, his sister Nikhat Hegde, and brother-in-law Santosh Hegde of creating distance between him and the rest of the family.
According to him, they influenced Aamir against him. At the same time, he added that his superstar brother should have used his own judgment instead of relying on what others told him.
Faissal also dismissed a family press note issued earlier, calling it misleading. He pointed out that the statement did not include specific dates, which, he said, gave the impression that certain incidents happened recently when in fact they took place years ago.
Just a day before his media interaction, Faissal had shared a personal note on Instagram. In his post, he revealed that he has officially cut ties with his family.
“With a heavy heart yet renewed courage, I wish to share that I have severed all family ties, as declared through a public notice,” he wrote. Describing this decision as necessary for his “healing and growth,” he added that he was stepping into a new phase of life, one that he hoped would bring him “freedom, dignity, and self-discovery.”
This is not the first time Faissal has made shocking allegations. In an earlier conversation with a digital platform, he claimed that Aamir had kept him locked inside his house for an entire year. During this time, Faissal said he was given medicines against his will. He alleged that his family insisted he was suffering from paranoid schizophrenia, a diagnosis he has repeatedly denied.
He further said that his mother and sister even filed a legal case against him, portraying him as a danger to society. According to him, this was part of the family’s attempt to isolate him and question his mental stability.
In response, Aamir and his family have stood by their version of events. They maintain that Faissal is twisting facts and misrepresenting what actually happened.
