Security Forces Prepared for Terrorist Infiltration at LoC

A senior officer of the Border Security Force (BSF) has raised alarms about terrorist infiltration attempts from across the Line of Control (LoC) into the Kashmir Valley. On Saturday, Inspector General (IG) Ashok Yadav confirmed that terrorists are currently positioned at launch pads, biding their time to infiltrate the region. The security forces, however, stand alert and equipped to prevent any such incursions.

Discussing the situation with reporters, Yadav identified the onset of winter as a critical period for infiltration attempts. He remarked that “there are always attempts to infiltrate before snowfall.” With approximately two months remaining until the winter sets in, the chances for infiltration remain high. “They understand they have lower chances for the next six months,” he explained, attributing this urgency to the seasonal shift.

Yadav specifically noted the presence of terrorists at launch pads opposite Bandipora and Kupwara sectors. “They are poised for action, waiting for favorable opportunities, including inclement weather,” he detailed. Recognizing the persistent threat, he reiterated that the security forces are fully prepared for any eventuality, maintaining tight security at the LoC.

The Inspector General emphasized that collaboration with the Indian Army enhances operational efficiency. “Together, we are exercising tight control over the LoC,” Yadav affirmed. He highlighted that this year, security forces successfully thwarted two major infiltration attempts, showcasing the efficacy of their alertness and strategic methodologies.

To bolster their defensive capabilities, the security forces employ advanced surveillance technology. “We dominate our area of responsibility (AOR) through the latest equipment and new methodologies,” Yadav stated. He underscored that due to the vigilance exhibited by the BSF and Army personnel, infiltration poses a significant challenge for extremist elements.

The LoC has historically been a hotspot for infiltration attempts, especially in anticipation of harsh winter conditions. The BSF’s proactive stance not only enhances border security but also reinforces the sentiment of safety within local communities.

As winter approaches, the BSF remains steadfast in its commitment to safeguarding the integrity of the Kashmir Valley. With the threat of terrorism looming, the implementation of strategic defenses and high-alert protocols remain crucial in countering initiatives from across the border.
