Jammu, Sept 30: The Directorate of School Education Jammu has officially announced revised school timings for both government and private schools, effective from October. Starting next month, schools in the Summer Zone will set their operational hours from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. This schedule will transition to 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM from November onward.
In areas governed by the Jammu Municipal Corporation and surrounding urban territories, schools will maintain the earlier schedule, continuing with the 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM timetable. This decision aims to create a more suitable learning environment for students while accommodating daylight hours.
In the Winter Zone, schools will shift to their winter schedule, operating from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM starting October 1. The change in timings aligns with seasonal weather adjustments, ensuring the wellbeing of students during the colder months.
The Directorate has made it clear that any institution that fails to comply with these new timings will face strict action. This initiative underscores the department’s commitment to maintaining order and enhancing the educational framework within the Jammu division.
District Education Officers have been tasked with monitoring adherence to the new schedules, reflecting the Directorate’s proactive approach to school administration. Parents and guardians should take note of these changes and ensure that their children arrive at school according to the new timings.
Such changes are crucial as they directly impact student attendance and academic performance. A well-structured school day can facilitate better learning outcomes and promote overall student engagement during school hours.
